Through its regional centres in Montréal, Québec City, Eastern Townships, Lévis, Outaouais and Mauricie, the Foundation offers physical wellness programs, psychological support and the province’s largest housing network. It also offers tailored assistance to young people aged 15 to 39 through its Félix Program and, through its Cancer Info Services, provides listening, answers and reassurance throughout Québec.

Director, Financial Development

DÉFIS ET OPPORTUNITÉS STRATÉGIQUES

The role of Director, Financial Development is a strategic challenge at the heart of the Quebec Cancer Foundation. In an environment marked by a growing demand for support for people affected by cancer, this position plays a key role in guaranteeing the diversification and sustainability of revenues. Through the implementation of innovative strategies aligned with the 2024-2026 strategic plan, the incumbent will need to lead a high-performance team, collaborate with regional departments and steer major initiatives on a provincial scale. The Director will contribute directly to the Foundation’s reputation by strengthening ties with donors and partners, while optimizing the impact of fundraising campaigns to meet the growing needs of the Québec population.

FONCTIONS ET RESPONSABILITÉS

Reporting to the Executive Director, this person plans, directs and controls financial development activities in line with the Foundation’s strategic orientations. The Director develops revenue diversification approaches, oversees the application of policies and supervises his/her team. The Director acts as an expert advisor to the regional departments, supervises provincial projects, contributes to strategic planning and sits on the Management Committee.

The main responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Develop and implement financial development strategies in line with strategic orientations, and submit annual plans to ensure that objectives are met;
  • Consolidate the organization’s ties with its partners, and identify and develop new partnerships;
  • Develop and implement solicitation and loyalty strategies with major corporations and private foundations likely to support our organization;
  • Coordinate the solicitation of major partners across the province and negotiate agreements in line with the organization’s objectives and policies;
  • Establish and allocate responsibilities, mandates and qualitative objectives for all fundraising activities with provincial scope;
  • Set up structures to harmonize fund-raising activities across the province, as well as inter-regional transfers of expertise;
  • Support regional fundraising activities by developing appropriate tools, among other initiatives;
  • Ensure and supervise the organization and conduct of fundraising activities under the direct responsibility of head office, particularly those in the Greater Montréal area;
  • Define and implement recognition and visibility plans for all partners and major donors;
  • Establish the conditions necessary for the development of major and planned gifts, and develop strategies for their promotion;
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, manage all activities related to the recruitment, integration, development and coaching of employees under his/her responsibility, while promoting coordination, communication and feedback within the team.

Compétences et qualifications requises

  • Undergraduate degree in management, marketing, communications or another relevant field;
  • Significant experience in fundraising, including leadership or strategic management roles;
  • Leadership focused on mobilization, solutions and harmonious management of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Strong strategic planning and analysis skills;
  • In-depth knowledge of fundraising techniques and methods;
  • Excellent understanding of the philanthropic and business environment;
  • Interpersonal skills: act with tact and diplomacy and demonstrate sound and positive human relations skills;
  • Ability to establish and maintain strategic partnerships with donors, corporations, institutions and governments;
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to adapt, organize and prioritize work;
  • Ethics, rigour, good judgment, diplomacy;
  • Autonomy, creativity and sense of responsibility;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English;
  • Flexibility to travel and work outside normal working hours;
  • Computer skills and ability to work with Windows; knowledge of Prodon would be an asset.

On n’oublie pas les jeunes non plus : notre Programme à Félix s’adresse spécifiquement aux 15 à 39 ans pour leur offrir un accompagnement sur mesure. Et peu importe où les gens résident au Québec, nos Services Info-cancer sont là pour répondre à leurs questions, les écouter et les réconforter, sans jugement ni robot au bout du fil.

Mais la Fondation, c’est aussi un milieu de travail où il fait bon vivre. Un endroit chaleureux, flexible, humain, où le travail d’équipe ne se résume pas à des réunions Teams. Ici, chaque voix compte, chaque idée a sa place, et le soutien, ce n’est pas juste pour les patient·e·s : c’est pour nous aussi.
