As for me, I am grateful to have stayed healthy over the years, and at a time when cancer diagnoses are climbing in Quebec and an increasing number of people are struck by the disease.
The Foundation has continued to support these people in many ways, thanks to the generosity of people like you. When we come together to share the burden that is cancer, the load is lightened and people with the disease and their loved ones reap the benefits.

The individuals impacted will tell you: receiving a cancer diagnosis is like seeing a hurricane on the horizon. Everything becomes blurred, then your world shatters, and you lose your bearings… The Foundation, in such moments, strives to be a beacon in a storm, facilitating access to front-line oncology services.
To act in this capacity, we have always counted on our ability to rally supporters and on our pivotal role in Quebec’s healthcare ecosystem, two factors that have enabled us to carry out several cancer-fighting initiatives successfully.
One such measure is the option, since last October, of making an appointment with a Foundation nurse via the Quebec government portal, Clic Santé. There’s also our Marche du Grand défoulement and the twenty or so organizations who participate, providing a way of better connecting with the community. Add to this the broadcast of our prevention and screening campaigns on screens in 185 medical clinics across Quebec, with a potential audience of millions of patients!
And lastly, the financial support program introduced last year, with funding of $1 million, is designed to allow more health institutions to offer yet more services to people with cancer.
The Foundation is well aware that its ability to create ties with the population, be increasingly present, and offer various professional services in most of Quebec’s hospital centers is due to the generosity of people like you. People who understand that such a formidable enemy is best faced when we come together. Your solidarity is our best ally.

We have been sharing this message for the past 45 years, and in 2024, we were able to speak high and loud to the National Assembly of Québec. We of course plan on staying the course in 2025, by adding more services to our arsenal to continue helping yet more people in need.
For example, this year we will build a seventh Lodge, this one in Rouyn-Noranda. We will also be entering into new complementary service agreements with partner institutions in the healthcare sector, to better serve patients in various regions of Quebec.
These initiatives will allow us to multiply our actions in terms of cancer screening and prevention, and to increase public awareness of the disease. Our efforts will notably comprise the sharing of information on the realities of living with cancer and navigating the trajectory of oncology care.
We will also continue to provide immediate support services, and even enhance, the services already in place, including the support offered to loved ones. Did you know that 50% of the calls received by our Info-cancer Hotline are from family and friends of people living with cancer? These individuals need psychological support to remain pillars during the turmoil.
Here at the Foundation, we need your support to help us continue being present for everyone cancer impacts. You are part of our extended family, and the comfort you bring is essential to the well-being of all Quebecers affected by cancer.
