Service offerings

Respite service for caregivers

Complementary information: Respite service offered on Friday afternoons. Caregivers may bring their loved one to Centre Émile-L’Oranger to take a period of respite. During this time, care recipients participate in supervised recreational activities. Available in French. For caregivers and care recipients. Opening hours: Fridays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For information or registration: 418-688-1511, extension 240. Location where the service is offered: The respite service takes place at Centre Émile-L’Oranger, located at 1625 Notre-Dame Street, L’Ancienne-Lorette. Fees: $4 per hour.

In-home respite service

Complementary information: In-home respite service offered for up to 4 to 8 hours per week per caregiver. Weekend services may also be available. Available in French. For caregivers and care recipients. Opening hours: Service by reservation, offered from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Weekend availability may also be offered. Location where the service is offered: Sainte-Foy, Vanier, Charlesbourg, Cap-Rouge, Beauport, Boischatel, and the Portneuf region. Fees: $4 per hour.

PAIR safety calls

Complementary information: Remote telephone monitoring service in partnership with the PAIR program to help ensure the well-being of care recipients through daily phone calls. A safety call is made each day, or according to the person’s needs, to verify their well-being. The service is offered in the morning, between 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. Available in French.

For individuals living at home, including seniors, people experiencing a loss of autonomy, individuals who are isolated, or those requiring daily follow-up to help ensure their safety. Opening hours: The service is offered in the morning, between 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. Location where the service is offered: Québec City, Portneuf and Charlevoix regions. Fees: Free services.

PAIR specialized reminder calls

Complementary information: Reminder calls are offered for medication intake, meals, exercise, and blood glucose monitoring. The service is available 365 days a year, from 5 a.m. to midnight. Available in French.

Location where the service is offered: In person (Québec City, Portneuf, and Charlevoix regions) or by telephone. Fees: Free services.

Group psychosocial support.

Complementary information: Intended for caregivers supporting a loved one or experiencing bereavement, these meetings provide an opportunity to share experiences, receive support and understanding from peers, and reflect on their situation. Offered in person or virtually. Available in French.
