The Quebec Cancer Foundation is proud to welcome Marilyne Vallières to its Board of Directors. A woman of vision whose remarkable career and commitment to community strengthen the Foundation’s mission: to offer care that is ever more compassionate, accessible, and innovative for people affected by cancer and their loved ones.
A CPA and co-founder of Signalisation de Ville (SDV), Marilyne Vallières has emerged as a leading figure in Quebec’s business community. Under her leadership, SDV has grown from a small company founded in 2013 into an organization with over 300 employees, ranked among Quebec’s 50 largest SMEs (2024–2025) and listed among Canada’s fastest-growing companies by The Globe and Mail.
Winner of numerous awards — including CEO of the Year (Les Affaires) and Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women (WXN) — she embodies bold, inclusive, and deeply human leadership. In 2025, she received HEC Montréal’s Luminescence Award and was a finalist for the Woman of Merit Award from the YWCA Montreal Foundation.
Actively involved in the Conseil du patronat du Québec (CPQ), she shares her experience as an entrepreneur and engaged leader to contribute to discussions on Québec’s social and economic issues. Having personally faced her father’s cancer, she recently took part in the Foundation’s provincial tour promoting its Workplace Support Program, demonstrating her commitment to improving the well-being of those affected by illness.
“It is with great pride that I join the Board of the Quebec Cancer Foundation. Having accompanied my father through his illness, I know how much that support matters. I hope to bring my voice and experience to contribute to the Foundation’s vital work with families affected by cancer,” she said.
Meanwhile, Isabelle Girard, an experienced nurse and manager known for her compassionate leadership and dedication to collective well-being, had served as an observer member of the Board since 2024 before being elected as a director.
“The presence of these two exceptional women reflects our determination to advance governance with even greater rigor, compassion, and innovation. For more than 46 years, the Foundation has been serving Quebecers affected by cancer — and continues, with renewed energy, its commitment to prevention, early detection, and collective action for a healthier future,” said Marco Décelles, General Manager of the Quebec Cancer Foundation.
The recent appointment of Marilyne Vallières and the continued involvement of Isabelle Girard highlight the Foundation’s deep commitment to offering meaningful support and concrete resources to those affected by cancer.
The Board is delighted to be able to rely on its complementary expertise and shared vision, which together help advance this essential mission.
