Here is some information to help you prepare for your stay with us, so that it is as pleasant as possible.

What to bring

For your stay we propose that you bring along:

  • Body soap
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Paper tissues
  • Clock radio
  • Pillow to make you feel at home (ours are slightly plasticized)
  • Liquid laundry soap (only), if you use our washer
  • Pocket change or calling card for public telephones
  • Umbrella

Meals

An allowance for meals is included in the cost of a night’s stay for people with cancer and their companion. On your arrival, you will receive a meal card valid in the cafeteria of Notre Dame Hospital and the CHUM. The value of this card usually covers meal costs. However, depending on your menu choices, you may have extra charges.

from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Lunch

from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (from 1:45 p.m. service is limited to self-service items  available)

Dinner

from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Weekends and holidays

Lunch

from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Dinner

from 4:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Prepare your own meals

Tired of eating out? Missing badly your spaghetti sauce? Don’t worry, our common kitchen allows you to prepare your meals, just like at home. Food cupboards and refrigerators are available for you to store your food.

Reception schedule for admission and departures

The receptionist will take care of your admission at the following times:

Weekdays

Morning

9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Afternoon

1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Evening

5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Sundays and holidays

Evening

5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The day you check out, you must leave your room by 11:00 a.m. after making your final payment.

Parking and free shuttles

A free shuttle service is provided for residents undergoing treatment at various hospitals.

McGill University Health Centre (GLEN)

transport offered from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

NORTH SHORE OF MONTREAL

Parking

The Norman Fortier Lodge in Montreal offers seven parking spaces that can be made available to residents at a modest price. No space can be reserved.

If a parking space is allocated to you, the person at reception will give you a vignette to hang from your rear view mirror. You must leave your keys at reception whenever your vehicle is in the parking space.
