Quebec’s business community has once again surpassed expectations during the 2024 corporate campaign of the Quebec Cancer Foundation, raising over $1,556,000 to support individuals affected by cancer across the province. This unprecedented amount highlights the unwavering commitment of the corporate sector to this vital cause.
From Gatineau to Quebec City, including Trois-Rivières, Sherbrooke, and Montreal, the business community organized numerous events and philanthropic activities, pooling their efforts to achieve this extraordinary milestone.
At the heart of this mobilization was the 2024 edition of the Cancerto fundraising evenings, which brought together thousands of philanthropists across the province. These events, held from October to December, were marked by steadfast solidarity and captivating musical performances by the Orchestre du Septième Art, the Moodlight Band, Royal 5 and the Generation, and Get UP!, to name a few of the featured talents.
The campaign culminated on December 11 with the Cancerto Montreal evening at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal. Presented by Larivière et Massicotte, Pharmaciennes inc. – Pharmacie d’expertise, in collaboration with Blue Aurora Solutions and with the support of Pfizer, Merck, Genatec, Fonds Dynamique, Groupe financier Peak, Services financiers Eric F. Gosselin, and many other prestigious partners, this event alone raised $276,200. Guests were enchanted by performances from Guylaine Tanguay, the Foundation’s volunteer spokesperson, accompanied for the occasion by Bruno Pelletier and Christian Marc Gendron.
Essential support for Quebecers affected by cancer
The funds raised during this campaign will help support the 67,500 Quebecers who are diagnosed with cancer every year. Thanks to these contributions, the Quebec Cancer Foundation will continue to provide essential services such as accommodation, complementary therapies, Info-Cancer Services, and financial and legal assistance programs tailored to the needs of people living with cancer.
“On behalf of the Foundation, our beneficiaries, and their loved ones, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Quebec’s business community. Your support allows thousands of Quebecers to access indispensable resources that improve their quality of life and help them navigate the challenges of facing this illness,” said Marco Décelles, General Manager of the Quebec Cancer Foundation.
