The Quebec Cancer Foundation has elected to be there at every stage of the journey, offering support, information and companionship to persons with cancer and their loved ones across Quebec, before, during and after the disease strikes.

It begins with stepping up. The generosity of donors allows us to welcome, put up and provide services to persons with cancer and their companions in one of our 7 Quebec lodges, the latest of which opened in Rouyn-Noranda this past December. Beneficiaries can count on solid, ongoing and compassionate support during the hardest days of their ordeal.
The next step is lending a helping hand. People sometimes forget that cancer can also have a financial impact. Thanks to you, our Support program for daily living activities can help ease this burden and let persons with cancer focus on the one thing that counts the most: beating the disease and recovering.
In essence, your support allows us to be a strong and reliable ally for persons facing cancer. Your contribution also ensures that we can offer yet more services, complementary therapies, psychological support and financial and legal assistance in all of Quebec’s communities, while advocating for policies that will enable better prevention and screening measures. There are helpful solutions – but we can’t bring them to life without your help.

Stepping up, throughout Quebec
With your help, we care for persons facing cancer, with 7 lodges across Quebec, representing a total of 300 beds and nearly 40,000 nights each year. Along with nearly 125 professionals and over 20,000 participations in soothing and calming complementary therapies: art-therapy, massage therapy, kinesiology, yoga… and much more.
Moving faster than the disease
You give us the means to magnify our efforts to improve awareness, share information and rally our allies… before cancer strikes. Prevention is up to all of us, and rests on solid individual choices and joint decisions. Together, we can incite the population and elected officials to make screening a priority. Because moving faster saves more lives.
Lightening the daily load
Close to 75% of the requests received by the Foundation’s Support program for daily living activities are for nutrition assistance. Responding to these requests can be life-changing, as in the case of the Montérégie beneficiary who’ll receive a food basket every two weeks for one year. The Support program for daily living activities’ financial assistance of $260 per month (in groceries) is equal to over $4,350* a year for one person.
Providing information to foster greater understanding and facilitate the journey
Your gesture promotes greater solidarity. This winter, we’ll be introducing a unique educational platform (an oncology compendium) that will revolutionize access to reliable and positive cancer information. This platform will feature a series of explicit, straightforward and detailed educational clips designed to help people better understand the cancer journey as well as the treatments and related issues.
Informing, uniting, enhancing
Thanks to the donations received, the Quebec Cancer Foundation can have an even greater impact on cancer in Quebec, by moving faster, covering more ground and touching more people, with a mission focused on prevention, companionship and action. We do this by speaking to decision-makers on behalf of persons touched by cancer and by increasing the public’s awareness of the importance of prevention, screening and access. We also collaborate with healthcare system actors (institutions, organizations, practitioners and decision-makers) to take real steps and make concrete differences in the lives of Quebecers facing cancer.
