In keeping with its commitment to strengthening the health network ecosystem and accompanying people affected by cancer, the Quebec Cancer Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its new Oncology financial support program (PSFC). This program, with a budget of $1 million over 4 years, will support projects developed by Quebec hospital centers to provide people impacted by cancer with increased access to services and an improved healthcare journey.
“We have given ourselves the objective of Facilitating access to front-line oncology services. It goes without saying that investing in the optimization of cancer programs and services is another step forward in the effort to improve the effectiveness of the care and services provided to patients throughout Quebec. This is a major milestone for our health network,” noted Marco Décelles, General Manager of the Quebec Cancer Foundation.
$1 million to take action
As of today, the province’s cancer centers will be able to submit a request for the funding of initiatives that directly meet the needs of patients and their loved ones:
- Education, prevention and screening programs
- Psychological support programs
- Physical well-being programs
- Financial and/or legal assistance programs
- Youth programs (ages 15 to 39)
- Lodging assistance programs (near treatment centers)
The Oncology financial support program will multiply the impact and benefits of the Quebec Cancer Foundation’s initiatives on the health network’s everyday operations, and this by accompanying and offering yet more support to Quebecers impacted by cancer, at every stage of the disease.
This program was made possible by the generosity of more than 26,000 donors who offered their financial support to the Quebec Cancer Foundation. Our benevolent and diverse community of supporters allows us to bring such inspiring projects to life, projects that prove essential to all Quebecers with cancer and their loved ones.
