The Quebec Cancer Foundation and Myeloma Canada are joining forces to enhance support access for people affected by cancer. Every day, 11 Canadians are diagnosed with multiple myeloma, the second most common form of blood cancer. This partnership aims to ensure that even more people, whether they are living with multiple myeloma or are supporting a loved one, can access the support, resources, and information they need to better cope with the disease.
“This strategic partnership demonstrates our commitment to strengthening our capacity in the ecosystem to provide support and guidance to even more people affected by cancer. By developing collaborations like this, we are helping to create an environment that fosters the well-being of patients, their loved ones, and the community,” said Marco Décelles, General Manager of the Quebec Cancer Foundation.
From now on, Myeloma Canada will direct its patients to the Info-Cancer Hotline of the Quebec Cancer Foundation. This initiative will ensure that anyone residing in Quebec can easily and freely consult oncology professionals with just one phone call. Simultaneously, the Quebec Cancer Foundation will refer patients to Myeloma Canada’s new support service: patients with myeloma undergoing active treatments who wish to learn more about treatment options and participate in clinical research.
“When someone is diagnosed with myeloma, the information about the disease and its management can be overwhelming. Our partnership with the Quebec Cancer Foundation will help us provide tailored answers to Quebec residents – free of charge. By working together and combining the expertise of our two information services, we will be able to support more people affected by myeloma, helping them overcome challenges and navigate their journey,” said Jessy Ranger, Director, Patient Programs, Health Policy & Advocacy at Myeloma Canada.
