After several inconclusive examinations and a first inaccurate diagnosis of hemorrhoids, I finally learned, in February of 2023, that I had anal cancer. Being self-employed, this diagnosis had a shattering impact on my life and more specifically, my professional activities. Luckily, the Quebec Cancer Foundation’s Support program for daily activities (PAVQ) helped lighten my load. My complete story can be read in this testimonial. I’m reaching out to you now as someone who benefited from the Foundation’s services. As is the case each year, the Foundation’s corporate campaign calls upon the Quebec business community to find it in their heart to support the programs and services made available to people affected by cancer throughout the province.
At present, someone receives a cancer diagnosis every 8 minutes. And this number is on the rise…
We need your support, to help the province’s medical personnel battle cancer, but also for everything else the disease entails. With your support, the Quebec Cancer Foundation can continue to be there, in the most humane way possible, for people who reach out for help in facing this hardship.
Unfortunately, too many people feel they must face this ordeal alone. The Quebec Cancer Foundation addresses this very real issue by offering access to its oncology professionals, physical well-being and psychological support programs, and various assistance, accommodation and support services, all designed to support cancer patients, their loved ones, and the healthcare professionals concerned.
In 2023, thanks to the Foundation’s 6 accommodation centers, nearly 35,000 stays were offered to people affected by cancer, enabling them to remain near the treatment facility and avoid the grind of daily travel or the expense of paid accommodations. Furthermore, a total of $133,207 was provided to Quebecers with cancer, via the Support program for daily living activities (PAVQ).
“Your generosity enables the Quebec Cancer Foundation to help people with cancer and their loved ones, by offering physical relief, psychological support, and respite from the daily burden of the disease.”
