The Quebec Cancer Foundation is pleased to announce the recent nomination of Mr. Karl Blackburn as a member of its Board of Directors.
“We are extremely proud to have Mr. Blackburn join our Board. His vast expertise, both in the business community and the political arena, will flesh out a roster of experienced professionals from various spheres of activity. The entire Board of Directors and staff of the Foundation join me in offering him a warm welcome,” emphasized Dr. Philippe Sauthier, President of the Board of Directors of the Quebec Cancer Foundation.
Mr. Karl Blackburn took on the role of President and CEO of the CPQ (Conseil du patronat du Québec) in June 2020. Prior to holding this position, Mr. Blackburn was Senior Director, Public Affairs and Government Relations with Resolute Forest Products, a role he took on following a political career with the Québec government.
As a voting member of the Corporations division of the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail (CPMT) and member of the employer group of the Comité consultatif du travail et de la main-d’œuvre (CCTM), Mr. Karl Blackburn efficiently communicates the current issues facing Quebec employers and current and future labor market needs.
In addition to playing a pivotal role in Quebec’s business ecosystem, Mr. Blackburn is also a long-time philanthropist who has given generously of his time to countless organisms over the past years.
“It is a definite pleasure for me to serve on the Board of the Quebec Cancer Foundation and to make a difference in the lives of people directly or indirectly touched by cancer thanks to my involvement, experience, and various networks,” stated Mr. Karl Blackburn.
