The Quebec business community has come together to gather a record-breaking amount of $1,507,000 for Quebecers touched by cancer

December 14, 2023

The Quebec business community stepped up to the plate once again this year, supporting people touched by cancer throughout the province by raising over $ 1,507,000 during the 2023 Quebec Cancer Foundation’s corporate campaign.

From Gatineau to Quebec City, as well as in Trois-Rivières, Sherbrooke, and Montreal, members of the business community rallied to organize fundraising activities and events that allowed for achieving this incredible sum!

Over 1,000 philanthropists participated in this year’s Cancerto benefit evenings, the cornerstone of the Foundation’s corporate campaign. This series of events, held from October through December, showcased remarkably strong solidarity, with musical performances by the Orchestre du Septième Art, the Sortilege Blues Band, the Montreal Jazz Band, and the Bond Girls Orchestra, among others.

The campaign came to a close on December 13th at the Montreal Casino Cabaret with Cancerto Montréal, an event presented by Larivière et Massicotte, Pharmaciennes inc., with the support of PEAK Financial Group, CN, Pfizer, UAP, Merck, Genatec, Fonds Dynamique, Services Financiers Eric F. Gosselin inc., and numerous other partners. This one evening alone, featuring the Foundation spokesperson Guylaine Tanguay and her guests Brigitte Boisjoli and 2Frères, resulted in a total of $ 291,000 being raised in support of the Foundation and its beneficiaries.

The funds gathered thanks to this campaign will help support the 67,500 Quebecers diagnosed with cancer each year, and this will make it possible for the Foundation to keep offering its essential programs and services.

“On behalf of the entire Foundation team as well as those we help and their loved ones, I would like to thank the province’s business community for its invaluable support. Thanks to the community’s members, thousands of Quebecers can count on tangible and relevant resources, services, and programs conceived to encourage their overall well-being and lighten their daily load,” stated Marco Décelles, General Manager of the Quebec Cancer Foundation.

The impact of the postal strike is being felt on the funds raised.

However, strike or no strike, cancer doesn’t take a break.

Thank you for making an emergency donation to help us continue providing sustained support. 💜
