2025 corporate campaign

Help us today to work towards a better tomorrow for people battling cancer

Firm in our belief that you truly care about making a concrete difference, we ask you to please support the Quebec Cancer Foundation’s 2025 corporate campaign. We need your assistance to enhance our actions at the community level throughout Quebec and offer persons touched by cancer the companionship and support they so desperately need.

Your role in the business world has undoubtedly allowed you to witness firsthand the significance of a community with strong ties and a willingness to work together to overcome obstacles. Today, you can help members of our community who are facing debilitating challenges.

Every 8 minutes, someone in Quebec is diagnosed with cancer. These numbers represent real lives, real people whose world has been upended, families who find themselves adrift, and people like you and I, who are suddenly faced with a merciless reality. Our healthcare system, with its shortage of resources and time, is exhausted and often cold and callous. Cancer patients are among those who suffer the consequences. Luckily, the Foundation is on the front lines, offering help and support that is compassionate, benevolent, and adapted to the needs of patients, their loved ones, and healthcare professionals.

2024 marked 45 years since the creation of the Foundation, which celebrated this hallmark by announcing major investments in the field of health.

  • The introduction of the Oncology financial support program (PSFC), an initiative with a budget of $1 million over four years dedicated to allowing hospital centres to offer optimized services for cancer patients.
  • The granting of over $410,000 since 2022 thanks to the Support program for daily living activities (PAVQ), a financial assistance measure dedicated to people with cancer who find themselves in a precarious situation.
  • The investment of over $1 million for the renovation of our Estrie Lodge.
  • The announcement of the opening of a seventh Lodge, this one in Rouyn-Noranda, in the summer of 2025.

Last year, the Foundation’s six Lodges provided over 33,000 nights of accommodations to patients, whose daily routine was thus facilitated by being closer to their treatment centre.

It is with these patients in mind that we ask you to support our 2025 campaign by donating today. Please help us keep on fighting.

Listening to my body was in a sense a stroke of luck

I want to share my story to increase awareness and urge both men and women to learn more about cancer, screening, and prevention, and this beginning at a young age. Cancer can strike anyone at any time, as revealed by the 1,300 new cases diagnosed each week.

“After being refused a script for an early screening, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 35.”

Breast cancer is the type of cancer most often diagnosed among Quebec women between 30 and 49 years of age. The words stage III shattered my world. My spouse was equally shaken, especially since tumor size and cancer stage have an impact on survival odds, even with the progress being made in terms of treatment. I was still in my prime, a mother with three children, young adults. I had no symptoms before discovering the lump in my breast. There was no history of breast cancer in my family. I was livid.

“Many of the women under 50 years of age who discover a lump find themselves facing countless obstacles to simply pass an efficient mammogram for breast cancer.”

I was quickly seen by medical personnel. The oncology nurse at my hospital centre is the one who told me about the Quebec Cancer Foundation’s art therapy workshops. I discovered an extremely supportive community and found myself immersed in a safe and welcoming living environment where I could re-energize my mind and body, acquire new resources and tools, and find myself. All of this despite being in therapy and suffering from its side effects. The services offered thanks to your generosity make all the difference for people like me who are more often than overwhelmed by our unexpected misfortune.

We can never offer enough support to an organization that has been concretely helping, every day for over 45 years, hundreds of people who find themselves confronted by the country’s most widespread and deadliest disease. Thank you for donating to help the Foundation. Every donation provides hope and support to countless people – like me – who’ve been diagnosed with cancer so that they don’t need to face this difficult journey alone.
